Take Care
Cura is Latin for ‘take care’.
The name was derived from a phrase I learned at Fordham University, cura personalis, or care of the whole person. That’s what these classes are all about, taking time to care for yourself. The goal is to feel better physically and mentally.

A bit about me…
My passion for movement started when I was just three years old with ballet. While I didn’t pursue a career in dance, I continued dancing through college and still take class when I can now. I started taking Pilates to compliment my dance training and fell in love. I was suddenly able to increase my body awareness and access deeper muscles than I even knew I had.
Fast forward a few years and I offered to show an older friend some pilates moves as she was self conscious to go to the gym and really required more 1:1 training and explanation. It was a learning process for me as she had some aches and pains that I needed to accommodate. After several months of training twice a week she announced that her knees didn’t hurt when she was climbing the stairs. I was elated. Our training sessions increased in frequency and intensity. Her successes were my joy.
I decided to pursue this passion and become a certified pilates instructor. I learned new techniques, more about anatomy and how to be conscientious of my clients and their specific needs. I’m currently also pursuing a pre/post natal certification.
I look forward to working with you and helping you to feel stronger and more confident in your body.
Take care,
Danielle
