Prioritizing Pelvic Health

Amie Ashley Hogan joins Cura Pilates for an evening chat about pelvic health. Together we will learn about the anatomy of the pelvis and the often abstract idea of the pelvic floor will come to life.

Amie has 17 years of physical therapy experience. For 10 years, she was the Director of a prestigious outpatient orthopedic clinic in NYC. At Ashley Hogan, they are committed to restoring confidence, empowering patients and alleviating physical dysfunction in the body. With specialized training, Amie treats: pelvic floor issues, pelvic pain, urinary leakage, stress/urge incontinence, anal/fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pregnancy/postpartum concerns, diastsis recti, hip and lower back pain, sacroiliac joint dysfunction and painful intercourse. She uses manual techniques (internal and external), biofeedback, therapeutic exercise and dry needling for trigger point release.

Check out the Ashley Hogan website: https://www.ashleyhoganpt.com/ to learn more about Amie and her practice.

Nutcracker Fundraiser

Nutcracker Fundraiser

On December 23rd my usual evening class will have a different flavor- think Sugar Plums, candy canes and chocolate...

One of my former dance studios, Connecticut Ballet Center, will be unable to perform their usual Nutcracker performance this year and I will be running a fundraiser to supplement some of their lost revenue due to the pandemic this year. Connecticut Ballet preserves the beauty and history of ballet and embraces all the new movements and styles of today. Director Brett Raphael is not only a wonderful teacher but leads by example by giving back to the community. Learn more about them here: https://www.connecticutballet.org/

The class will be a mix of pilates and ballet- nothing too complex- so join me and please invite your friends- it'll be a fun one! If you can not attend but would like to donate, please just register and pay for the class. It is the easiest way for me to keep track of who to thank. :)
